What to define before sampling

Project at a glance

01

Story content, playback order and controls

Prepare the spoken script, pronunciation notes and any character names or musical cues. Confirm who owns the text and who may approve changes. A translation should be reviewed in the context of the printed image and intended action, not as isolated vocabulary. Resolve these points before a recording session so later edits do not force unnecessary file replacements.

02

Audio-loading method and edition identification

Use unique content IDs that stay stable when filenames change. The manifest should connect each ID to the button, page, card or interaction, together with the approved transcript and final audio file. Record intentional silence and pauses where they matter. A shared folder full of similarly named recordings is not a reliable production instruction.

03

Housing, power and packaging configuration

Ask the project team to confirm supported file format, loading method and any limits for the proposed hardware. Keep an untouched audio master and the exact production export. Test pronunciation, timing, track mapping and transitions in the assembled product. Use a native-language reviewer for the final edition, with all changes routed through the same revision process.

Prepare a project brief

Give your audio library a physical home

Define how stories are selected: cards, controls or another agreed interface. Document the number of tracks, their order and what happens when an item is removed or changed.

What to prepare

Review power, speaker performance, volume control and handling on the sample. Projection, content updates and connectivity are model-specific options to confirm.
